Do abstract/non-material things exist?

If humans and the unverse are only matter then how does the abstract/non-material exist?

Does free will exist?

If so then how can it exist if humans are physical objects & all events are causally necessitated by past events and laws of nature?

Do abstract/non-material things exist? ANSWERS:

  • 2 votes for the answer: ‘yes and no’
  • yes, in our mind
  • yes, for example love exists because we say it does but it only does because we give it meaning

If humans and the universe are only matter then how does the abstract/non-material exist? ANSWERS:

  • chemical reaction in our brain
  • by our agreement

Does free will exist? If so then how can it exist if humans are physical objects & all events are causally necessitated by past events and laws of nature? ANSWERS:

  • yes
  • when matter becomes consciousness then free will act as if it does
  • looks like we do have free will
  • free will doesn’t exist but on principle
